NCOALink
NCOALink is an efficient pre-mailing method for your addresses to become Move Update compliant. CASSing does not meet the Move Update requirement. CASSing only validates the address, it does not determine if the individual is still at that address. Plus, it updates your database with any address changes.
What is the Move Update?
The Move Update standard is a means of reducing the number of mail pieces in a mailing that requires forwarding or return by periodic matching of a mailer’s address records with customer-filed change-of-address orders received and maintained by the Postal Service. On November 23, 2008, the minimum frequency for the Move Update changed from 185 days to 95 days prior to the date of mailing. The Move Update standard is also required for all Standard Mail®. For more information on becoming compliant with the Move Update standard, visit USPS.
How does it work?
The ability to NCOA certify your address data is included in your PDS Office software when you activate PDS CASS It. NCOA is a separate option from CASSing your data, but works similarly. Before doing your first NCOA processing, Parish Data Systems will provide a Processing Acknowledgement Form (PAF) for you to sign and fax to our processing service. This form gives PDS permission to access the appropriate directories.
* NCOA processing is an add-on feature to CASS It! and includes additional fees to your CASS It! monthly subscription. The monthly subscription rates for CASS It!, NCOA processing and Geocoding are tiered by the number of addresses processed each month
