PDS Development Connection works with PDS DioOffice Server to synchronize family name and address information between parishes and the diocesan "The Raiser's Edge™" database. The PDS Development Connection streamlines the exchange of up-to-date information from parishes to the diocese and selected information back to the parishes.

"The Development Connection is a dream come true. It provides a seamless synchronization process between parishes that use PDS (Church Office) and the Raiser’s EdgeTM diocesan database."

- Marta, Annual Appeal Manager
Diocese of Orlando Florida

How Development Connection Works

Typically, a parish will use PDS Church Office to submit additions, changes, and/or deletions to family name, address, e-mail, and phone number records on a regular basis, which can be performed at any time. The parish selects and reviews the data to submit. The data is submitted to the PDS DioOffice server, which is a hosted web service that serves as a staging mechanism. The diocesan user selects PDS Development Connection from the plug-in menu in The Raisers Edge™. The Development Connection links to PDS DioOffice Server to upload all family additions, changes, and deletions for review. The user can detect potential matches, accept the data, ignore some of the data, or decline the data. Once an action is selected, PDS Development Connection updates the constituent record with the appropriate information. The Diocesan user may also make changes to names and addresses either for data consistency or due to updated information. The changed address and e-mail information is synchronized back to DioOffice Server for review and to be accepted or declined by the parish. (Name changes are not synchronized back to parishes)
