Q: The program starts or runs slow. What can be done to speed things up?

A: Program performance depends on many factors. The speed of your computer will have the biggest impact. For example: a 1 GHZ computer will usually perform much better than a 300 MHZ computer. 

However, the amount of RAM available and how your computer is configured will also impact your performance. The Increasing Performance page discusses several things you can check.
