Q: I need a Statement of Cash Flows for my finance committee. Is there one in the program? How can I make one?

A: Currently, there is not a Statement of Cash Flows in the PDS Windows Ledger or Ledger/Payroll program. We are currently trying to create one, either as a report or as a process.

The Statement of Cash Flows measures a church's Operating, Financing and Investing 'activity' by looking at the effect of Asset and Liability transactions on Cash and Cash Equivalents. It is more complex, and therefore, more 'personal' to each church, than a Balance Sheet or Income Statement. We are finding that most churches do not have Financing or Investing 'activity', which makes up two-thirds of the Cash Flow statement.

If your church has any unique requirements for handling this report, please let us know. For example, have you been creating this report manually? How or where did you do this ' by hand on paper, or on an Excel spreadsheet?
